Sony Mobile is expected to introduce the new Xperia Ion smartphone with 12.1 megapixel camera and dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
Sony Mobile is yet to formally announce the Xperia Ion smartphone in India. The smartphone has been listed at Snapdeal.com for Rs 36,000. Meanwhile, an online retail site Univercell.in has listed the Xperia Ion at a price of Rs 30,000. The new Sony Xperia Ion joins the existing lineup of smartphones and features Xperia NXT styling. At about 10.6 mm thick, the new Xperia Ion has a 4.6 inch touchscreen Reality Display with Mobile Bravia engine. The Sony Xperia Ion smartphone will be available in India soon.
Sony Mobile has added yet another smartphone model to its Xperia NXT smartphone line up. The new Xperia Ion is a power-packed device with a large 4.6 inch touchscreen with 1280 x 720 pixel native resolution. This touchscreen is a Reality Display with a scratch-resistant, shatter proof sheet on the mineral glass.
Under the hood the Xperia Ion will house a dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8260 mobile processor with 1 GB memory. This processor is coupled with Adreno 220 graphics that are good enough to run the most recent mobile games. This smartphone is PlayStation certified and can therefore run the legacy games with on-screen control buttons.
At the back, the Xperia Ion has a 12.1 megapixel camera to click high quality images and record 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second. In the front there is a 1.3 megapixel camera capable of displaying 720p video.
Packing 16 GB on-board storage, the smartphone offers a memory card slot to beef up memory storage with a memory card of up to 32 GB. Besides that, the phone also features Near Field Communication support and will be compatible with Sony SmartTags. There is also ANT+ support, Social Network Services integration, Stereo FM for RDS and Bluetooth. Sony Mobile has packed a massive 1900 mAh battery to power the device for a long time. This smartphone will be sold in India in red and black colours.
